About Us

Northwest Public Health is a regional magazine published by the University of Washington School of Public Health. It is a publication that is dedicated to the art and science of public health practice in the Pacific Northwest. We feature developments from state, local, and tribal public health in the six-state region of Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington, and Wyoming. We also highlight the cutting-edge work done by the diverse disciplines at the University of Washington School of Public Health, including biostatistics, environmental health, epidemiology, global health, and health services.

Our opinion pieces and profiles share the passions and stories of personalities in public health. Infographics present public health data in a lively visual format. Feature articles invite you in with quotes, stories, and conversational prose. We hope you our publication compelling, whether you are a public health veteran, or simply someone who shares our commitment to improving the health of communities.

Northwest Public Health is directed by an Editorial Board that represents a variety of perspectives from the Pacific Northwest region.   Tao Sheng Kwan-Gett is Editor-in-Chief.
